How do I customise what appears on an invoice?
A settings panel on each invoice or estimate controls what the customer sees: notes and terms, a footer, a signature block, which of your custom fields appear, and the wording of the line item, unit price and line total column headings. Defaults come from your organization settings and are copied onto the document when it is raised, so any one document can be changed without affecting the rest.
Custom fields are yours to define rather than a fixed list — a title and a value, each marked as internal only or shown to the customer. There is a set for the document and a separate set for the customer block, and the heading above them is itself a setting. A customer’s purchase order number, a site reference or a contract number all live here.
Because the settings are copied onto the document when it is raised, changing your organization defaults later does not restate invoices you have already issued. There is a button on the panel to pull the current defaults in deliberately.
