Customers

  • Can a customer see their own invoices?

Yes, through the customer portal, which is a separate capability. You switch it on per customer and hand them a password; they then sign in to see their invoices and the payments recorded against them, view and accept or decline estimates, and message you with photos and files. They cannot pay from the portal — paying by card happens on an invoice’s share link — and they cannot see anything you have not marked visible to them.

  • Can customers add themselves?

Yes. You can share a sign-up link or QR code, or hand your own device to someone in person. Either way the submission waits in a review queue — nothing reaches your customer list until somebody on your team approves it, and you can mark a submission as rejected, spam or a duplicate instead. Someone using the public link also has to confirm their email with a code before the form is accepted.

  • Give a customer a statement of what they owe

A statement covers everything outstanding for a customer rather than a single invoice, which is usually what you want when chasing an account rather than one job. Alongside the outstanding view there are activity, ageing and monthly summary views for the same customer. Gridbind does not email statements: download the statement as a PDF or a spreadsheet and send it yourself.

  • Let customers add themselves

Share a sign-up link or QR code, or hand your own device to someone in person. Someone using the link has to confirm their email with a code before they can submit; an in-person capture skips that step, because a member of your staff was there. Either way the submission waits in a review queue — nothing reaches your customer list until you approve it, so a public form cannot fill your records with junk.
