How do I set up my organization?
Signing up creates your organization and makes you its owner. You verify your email with a code, give your business and billing details, and Gridbind then builds your organization in the background and emails you when it is ready. From there you add tax rates, branding and team members in Settings; customers, catalogue items and invoices can all be added as you go.
What sign-up asks for
Section titled “What sign-up asks for”Your name and contact number, a password, an organization name, your country, state and timezone, your business name, industry, size and type, and a billing address. Two of these are worth knowing in advance:
- The organization name has to be unique across Gridbind, so a common trading name may already be taken.
- Your country sets your currency. It is the organization’s one currency for everything afterwards, so pick the country you invoice from.
You also choose whether you sell products or services, which is what the catalogue and the line-item labels are called throughout the app. It is a setting you can change later.
No card details are taken at sign-up, and a trial licence is applied to the new organization automatically.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”The organization is created in the background — its own database, your business record, and a starting invoice workflow — and you get an email when it is ready. Until then the sign-up page reports the setup as pending, and it will tell you if the setup failed rather than leaving you waiting.
What you still have to do yourself
Section titled “What you still have to do yourself”Nothing has to be complete before you send your first invoice, but four things are yours to set up: your tax rates, your logo and brand colour, your invoice numbering, and the people on your team. Existing customers and catalogue items are typed in or, for the catalogue, imported from a CSV file.
